Presumably they could only have pocketed cash, not credit card charges.

The story refers to 'fake' Oyster cards, but they weren't fake - it
seems they just never allocated the money coming over the counter into
the POS system. Possibly they did the same with the rail tickets they
issued.

I can't see how they didn't think a discrepancy would arise and
eventually get flagged up (particularly with the Oyster monies).

Agreed. Loadsamoney now, bugger the future.

On the other hand, total sentencing: 6 years - probably 3-4 years
served; yield £168,000. Maybe that's not a bad rate of return.

As for throwing away their careers - one of them is 67

Far more subtle ticket sales fraud has been - maybe still is - taking
place in south London.
