What is a "Fog Inlet"?

Why do they want to let Fog INto the underground?

If an Inlet lets Fog out, how did the fog get in, in the first place?
And wouldn't that be a Fog Outlet?

are doors and signs in some stations with cryptic phrases like "Private Rod"
and I've always wondered what these mean - in the way that your mind tends
to speculate about anything and everything while you're waiting for the
train to come!

There's certainly a lot of room for speculation there. I'd advise that

Isn't it actually "Private R.O.D."? That on the door next to where
that pikey beggar and her kid sit in the cross-passageway between the
Picc & Bak platforms at Piccadilly Circus...

fighting.

I've seen a switch marked 'Safety on line switch' or some such; i was
rather disturbed to see it was in the off position!

I suppose it does something like cut the power to the live rail, though,
so perhaps having it on all the time would make life difficult.
