2018, James Heaton remarked: I'm trying to work out why an American fighter pilot is stationed at Kings Cross! At a guess, he either works in some sort of USAF liaison office there, or, more likely, the father was catching a main line train to the airbase where his son is actually based. Or maybe that was just where he was meeting his son? Big American airbase in Mildenhall; by rail Ely and taxi would probably be the best way, so King's X would be the logical station. The fighter pilots are at Lakenheath. Although not necessarily living on-base. -- Roland Perry |
