Default Lack of road markings in Kensington & Chelsea

Precisely. All part of the "speed up the motorist" mantra of the
road lobby, whose view of the roads is always from behind the
windscreen.

I will always explain revoked keys, unless the UK government
prevents me using the RIP Act 2000.

Personally I'd love roads without any signs or markings. I don't think you
would.

I'm old enough to remember driving roads that were substantially without
markings and I also remember how much easier it became to drive,
particularly in rural areas, when the present markings started to come into
use in the mid 1960s.

'Easier to drive' pretty much means 'can drive faster before hitting
the equivalent amount of difficulty as before'
