Two commutes - suggestions for where to live ?
East London/Docklands area? Somewhere on the Jubilee Line and DLR.
Canary Wharf/Isle of Dogs or nearby isn't as expensive as you might think. Really depends on the sort of property you want to live in and your budget. Chelmsford can be got to from Limehouse and Jubilee line to Waterloo is 12 minutes. With a fast train to woking. You could be there in less than an hour. A. |

And Bracknell's about an hour from Waterloo, which is actually where she'll be commuting to :-) -- Called Pete? Join The Pete Collective NOW at www.thepetecollective.co.uk |

Two commutes - suggestions for where to live ?
My girlfriend and I currently live in Woking.
She works in Bracknell (30 minute drive). If I were to get a job in Chelmsford - where is a good place to live for a reasonable commute for both of us ? (the middle is about central London - bit pricey). Depends how pricey you can afford - how far from Bracknell station does she work? I'd have said somewhere closer to London, maybe somewhere around Clapham Junction/Twickenham/Richmond might be an idea. It's all pretty pricey around there though. -- Called Pete? Easier for the Chelmsford, but Jubilee and Waterloo for the Bracknell. OK for now, but be prepared to move on before 2012. -- Thoss |

No, but it will be hell living there, and travelling to and from there, during the Olympics. The Olympics will only last for 3 weeks - if you don't want to be near it then it would be a great time for a holiday, but surely not a reason to move house.Obviously if you're close to the construction traffic then the problem might be longer term, but that would be a reason to get out now, not in 2012 when all the hassle's over. Yes, but should get an easy market value+25% if it's subject to a CPO, and if you ask the right people and buy in an area near all the action, but not affected by the building work, it should increase a fair bit in value. Trouble is, it probably will have done already by now..... -- Called Pete? Join The Pete Collective NOW at www.thepetecollective.co.uk |
