wsgroup.no.spam.thanks writes Heard a rumour/story about Met Line train driver who opened the doors on the wrong side of the train at a platform. Didn't check to see if anyone actually did get off the wrong side. Closed the doors. Opened the other side. Then went off. Station assistant complained. Driver has got sacked. Met Line drivers are going to go on strike to get him reinstated. True or not? It was on the BBC London News last night (accompanied by library footage of a Central Line train.) So it's definitely, err, maybe a rumour. -- "It used to be that what a writer did was type a bit and then stare out of the window a bit, type a bit, stare out of the window a bit. Networked computers make these two activities converge, because now the thing you type on and the window you stare out of are the same thing" - Douglas Adams 28/1/99. |
