That would be all of the ones that are underground on the
Met/Hammersmith Lines. They are dirty and depressing places to wait for
trains. Infact the only decent stations underground seem to be on the
Jubilee Line.

personally I found all the stations on the tunnel section of the Jubilee
line extension very depressing. Grey, bland, soulless architecture.

How difficult is it for an announcer to let us in on the secret
of which District Line train goes to Notting Hill Gate first ?

Why do you need an announcer when there are signs which tell you which is
the first train (District *or Circle*) to High St Kensington, and therefore
to NHG?

What if you can't see the signs?

It may be noisey but at least the station is new-ish and
cleaned regularily.

You saying Hillingdon is worse than, let's say, Kings Cross?

Yes. I like Kings Cross tube station, especially the Met platforms.

A man's vehicle is a symbol of his manhood.
That's why my vehicle's the Piccadilly Line -
It's the size of a county and it comes every two and a half minutes

Its much easier to rely on an announcer than it is to walk all the way down
to thw wrong end of the platform to read one sign then cross over the
platforms on the bridge to read the other on the opposite platform as there
is a district line train blocking the view from the other platform.......

I agree with you. They seem to be extolled as some sort of architectural
triumph but all they remind me of is some sort of hollywood idea of a
military bunker.

At least they are fairly clean and bright ...

Personally I'd suggest any of the stations on the bakerloo line between
queens park and stonebridge park. Ok , technically they're british rail
stations and the stations themselves are not too run down but the areas they
are in are Scumbag Central and I've felt unsafe at Harlesden in the day
(and I'm quite a large bloke) , god knows what it would be like for a woman
at night waiting at one of these hell holes.

Elephant and Castle bakerloo station has a sign in the tunnels which has a
distinctly long suffering air about it:

PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE
There are public toilets 100 yards away at ground level. Please refrain from
using this station for that purpose.

Define 'worst'?

Ugliest? Smelliest? Most vandalised? Poorest service? Most
inaccessible to people with children in buggies? Hardest to pronounce?

Ugliest: Wembley Central.
Smelliest: Wembley Central.
Most vandalised? Wembley Central.
Inaccessible? Wembley Central.

You're not keen on Wembley Central then?

So which do you reckon is the hardest to pronounce?
