I think a "winner" for length is usually the N47, Trafalgar Square to St
Mary Cray (obviously only a winner at night).

It looks like the longest normal day route in Greater London is the 111
Heathrow - Kingston (25km) and at night the N89 Trafalgar Square - Erith
(34km).

Does the 607 still run?

Yes, good point - probably one of the longest day routes (Shepherd's
Bush to Uxbridge for the uninitiated). The 113 seems pretty long too -
Oxford Circus all the way to Edgware.

The N207 is also a potential candidate amongst the night routes -
Holborn to Uxbridge, it must be one of the longest (and very frequent:
every 10 minutes at the weekends).

....although (unless you count it as abnormal) then the X26 wins at 34km
- which is long as the N89.
