Afternoon all,

Has anyone got TfL's journey planner to work recently? It's always been
painfully slow, but lately, it doesn't even get as far as loading the
front page. It's terrible - i have to work out how i'm going to get around
myself!

It has always worked for me. I tested it just now and it appears fast and
fine in Opera 8.54.

No problem here either. Just now, the front page loaded instantly. I
put in a random journey request (Balham to Ilford), and it gave me the
options in about 3 seconds, and showed me the details in a further 1
second. Using IE 6.0 on 4Mb broadband.

It's working fine here. Sounds like you've got a problem with your
system.

The planner can be a bit temperamental and I had a similar problem with
slow/no response some weeks ago. The old standby, switch off and start again
seemed to fix it.

No unusual problems but it has always been a bit slow.

Often the accessibility version of the TfL Journey Planner at
http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/bcl...T2?language=en
works more quickly as it lacks the spurious graphics of the main version.

Wow, that's really useful - I've updated my bookmark to go to this one
instead.

Interestingly, this offers an option which, as far as I can see, isn't
available on the normal Journey Planner:

Route type: Fastest
Least Interchange
Least Walking
Least Expensive

That last option isn't available on the normal Journey Planner, is it?

You're quite right - in particular, my choice of browsers, which was
Camino and Firefox. In Safari, it works fine.
