Yes
I'm sure you were speaking hypotheticaly, but just in case you really are
considering that journey, you might want to consider saving time by
walking from Acton Town (Pic) to South Acton (NLL).

And between West Ham and Upminster you can probably catch a C2C train
which calls only at Barking.

Yes but that's long winded. You might as well take the Picc to Acton
Town, change to a District e/b to Turnham Green and then get a Richmond
train to Gunnersbury.

A further slightly mad option is to as above but get off at Chiswick
Park and catch the 440 to close to South Acton station to catch the NLL.
Be warned though that the area around South Acton is not what one might
call delightful - it's a bit rough.

Another option if you really want to avoid Z1 and also see the delights
of the NLL is Bus 285 from Heathrow to Feltham, main line train to
Richmond, NLL to West Ham and then District or C2C train to Upminster.

And the bonkers option is to catch the X26 bus from Heathrow to Croydon
[1], stopping train to New Cross Gate, ELL to Canada Water the Jubilee
Line to West Ham and then District Line or ELL to Whitechapel and then
District Line.

[1] you'll need to check whether you want West or East Croydon stations
- I'm not sure how the stopping trains work these days.
