Default One way system at London Bridge

About four years ago, a one way system was imposed at London Bridge
mainline station. During peak times, you could only enter and exit at
Platform 8 in the mornings and evenings respectively. This was very
poorly signposted and you would regularly see people screaming at the
ticket gate attendants to let them in/out. However, it did work in
terms of controlling the flow of people and ensuring swift entry & exit
for the majority of commuters.

Over the last six months, it seems to have been quietly dropped, and
gates at all entrances have entry and exit lanes at all times. This
will often lead, in the peaks, to people who are going the opposite way
to the main commuter flow clinging to the sides of the passageways and
generally causing blockages and congestion.

Does anyone know why the one way system has been dropped? I wouldn't
be surprised if it were due to staff protests, as they did cop a load
of abuse from passengers due to poor signage.

Patrick
