Camera cost
In message . 170,
Adrian writes Driver A does 5,000 miles per year, and gets one speeding ticket every three years. Driver B does 50,000 miles per year, and gets one speeding ticket per year. Who gets nicked with greater frequency? Not that simple. Oh, OK. In that case, we'll ignore all references to the high mileage you do, because it's not that simple. You have to consider the kind of driving they do, I suppose. Someone doing all their mileage on urban roads is going to pass a lot more cameras than someone doing the same mileage on motorways. Same for accident statistics, in fact I wonder how the per mile accident rate for trucks looks if you correct for the proportion of miles driven on inherently very low risk roads. -- Steve Walker |
