There is a new sign at Pinner tube station - all it indicates is Southbound
trains and the time and there is one on the other platform that says Northbound trains and the time. It does not give a list of the next train.....so whats the point? Surely people know which is north and south bound side was it really worth putting in the sign. Would it not be better used if it said when the next train was? |

The Central Line system did that on every platform for ages until they got it all working, but it works now. |

This will be in a "few" years time!
These are part of the Infraco's station modernisation/refurbishment works that they must complete within the first 7 years of the PPP Contract. Eventually these will be connected to the new signalling and control system when this is built. It is expected that in 2008/9, Amersham, Rickmansworth and Rayners Lane signal cabins are transferred to an "interim" computerised signalling control room. Until then they won't tell you much more than what line your on and the time! No doubt they are on 24/7 - what a waste of electricity. |
