I don't know if this has been mentioned already...

The new ELL depot is under construction in the Silwood Triangle, at the
north end of Landemann Way.

The flyover from the NR lines at New Cross Gate is under construction at the
southern end of Juno Way.

The work has been underway for a while now. No sign of the old new
cross gate sidingr. From what i could see from the cab it looks like
it could be a diveunder rather than flyover though. Certainly makes
sense to be. Does anyone know where it will join up in the down
direction? South or north of the station?

Definitely a flyover. They should be building quite substantial
embankments either side. A diveunder means closing the line for a long
time, whereas a bridge can be lifted in on a weekend.

direction? South or north of the station?

I haven't seen a 100% clear diagram of this, but there appears to be a
connection at the north end, with the existing platform also remaining
in use. Whether there's also a connection at the south end I can't
tell, but I don't think so.

Hmmm, drawings I've seen show the down line more-or-less as is now,
but continuing through to a connection to the south of the station,
with no other down line connection.

That must be the logical way to do it in the down direction, to avoid having
to wait for a single slow line platform to become free. Hasn't it been
discussed here before that there unfortunately isn't room on the up side to
do the same?

Any idea how they are dealing with the Japanese Knot Weed problem?

My understanding is that it will be both. Nothing will terminate at NXG,
so there'd be no point in retaining a bay platform.

Ordinarily, nothing will terminate at New Cross Gate. The intention
is to be able to reverse south-to-north in the down platform in the
event of (severe) disruption to maintain a service on the non-national
rail bit.

Naturally, it would be rather awkward reversing on the main line.

The existing ELL platform was a through platform until relatively
recently (if not used as such). I've noticed in the last couple of
years that the track continuing south has been taken up, but I don't
know when it happened. Maybe too much trouble to maintain.

A metric shedload of glyphosate and a lot of patience?
