Default Oyster card validity from Waterloo to Wimbledon on national rail network

Using the tfl.gov.uk route planner with restrictions for passengers
who can't use stairs or escalators (but who can use the steps on a
bus) it routes a journey from the Holborn area by bus to Waterloo
station and then to Wimbledon station on the **National Rail network**

Obviously an Oyster card can be used on the first leg by bus but on
the second leg from Waterloo the tfl site adds notes at the side of
this leg saying "Zone(s): 1, 2, 3" does this mean that an Oyster
card could also be used on this part of the journey and if so would
this just be charged at the Zone 1,2,3 travelcard rate? (the journey
would be offpeak)

PAYG is not available on SWT, but a season loaded on Oyster is.
I should think the TfL route planner is not accounting for Oyster PAYG
availability when deciding it's solution.
