sold the car two days after I was caught on camera driving on a bus
lane. That means that I actually committed the offense while still

You sold the guy a car not a bus lane violation fine. So just pay up, and don't
do it again. You drove the car into the bus lane after all, it didn't get there
on its own did it?

fine. Pay up before it increases, bus lanes are for Local buses, not cars.

Not when the blue plate specifies 'local buses', otherwise AIUI they may.

Depends.


If the bus symbol on the bus lane sign has the word 'local' on it,
coaches are banned.

Otherwise they are permitted.

Apparently, according to the PSV trade press the word "Local" is important
here.If the sign on the entrance to the bus lane reads "Local Buses Only" you
can't take a coach in. On the other hand, if it just reads "Buses Only" you can
- because DVLA in their wonderfully obfuscative way licence "Coaches" as
"Buses".

Depends on how the bus lane is marked and (IIRC) which local byelaws
apply. If the bus pictogram contains the word "local" then certainly
not, however if it does not the answer is probably yes.
