Where does it say that? Enough places in the UK sell them, including Halfords. Not that many people drive abroad in winter surely, otheriwse it would be a rather niche market. They are only illegal if used inappropriately such that a vehicle is in a dangerous condition. Although they seem to get effective approval for use (only in deep snow) on various local authority and fire service sites they don't seem to be mentioned at all by DafT or by Transport Scotland. Anyway, if the councils are not going to bothern doing their job, what alternative do I have? |
