I have noticed this scrolling display before at Kings Cross and wondered how they get away with it when a number of trains turn at Moorgate. And on a not very related note at all really, I wonder why on the Piccadilly Line at Finsbury Park the station signage refers to the 'southbound' platform while the display on the platform calls it 'westbound'. Because at some point in the last 10 years (I forget exactly when) LU decided to standardise the directions on the picc. So a train is either eastbound or westbound regardless of the fact that everyone knows that north of holborn, and acton town to rayners they're actually going north - south. It also leads to the absurd situation at cockfosters that trains going to oakwood which is actually to the east are called westbound. I'm not sure if this stupid idea (probably thought up but some half witted manager with nothing else to do with his time) has spread to other lines but I wouldn't be surprised. B2003 |
