You can do it in three/four: One from platform to gate level. A second
from gate level to street, and then one or two back down to the
Thameslink platforms.

I think I was mis-remembering. Looking at the diagram, the difficult
transfer is from Piccadilly Line to Thameslink Northbound, a transfer
I've done many times when arriving back at Heathrow. Here if you want
to avoid stairs and escalators I think you need 5 lifts:

1. Piccadilly platform to corridor level
2. Corridor level to Northern ticket hall
3. Corridor beyond ticket barriers to St.Pancras concourse level
4. St. Pancras concourse level to Thameslink intermediate level
5. Thameslink intermediate level to Northbound platform.

My guess is that this would take at least 20 minutes, even if you were
lucky with lift arrivals and knew your way perfectly.

Victoria to Thameslink is even further

That's a bit pessimistic; and four of the five lifts are quite short and
rarely in use by anyone.
