New Carto-Metro map - v2.0

Any known errors from the v1.1 map have been corrected, but please let Franklin know if you find anything that appears to be wrong So far, just one: While the "track moved" notation is correct for Highbury & Islington, there should be former GN&CR track to the southbound tube platforms at Finsbury Park and the Piccadilly should be shown as formerly using the northbound ones. -- Clive D.W. I should have realised that the Drayton Park - Finsbury Park bit was missing. I spent a lot of time looking over the track work between Drayton Park and Finsbury Park when checking - I think it was a case of "can't see the wood for the trees" :-) Some background information There are probably quite a few missing disused tracks / goods yards etc. and, as I've found them I've passed the details on to Franklin. Originally the disused Northern line details were included because I knew where they were and it was thought that it might be interesting to add them in. After much research by Franklin and myself, a lot of "old" information was included for all lines on the map. Some more details were added for version 2. Apart from those tracks that we've missed, there are also some that may have been left out deliberately because we couldn't get confirmation of them. All this type of information was checked against at least two sources (whatever they were - often the internet), and preferably more, so as to try and ensure accuracy. Sometimes there are places where the track layout has been changed (possibly several times) and it's not always easy to show the old layout clearly with the existing tracks and so it has just been left out altogether. This can mean that, as a consequence, the map seems a bit piecemeal from a historical point of view, and indeed it is. However, whilst this can mean that it's perhaps a bit misleading history wise as parts may be missing, it was never the intention for it to be historically accurate. Franklin's aim has been to have an accurate as possible current version of the map. The historical bits are just a bonus for interest purposes (in the same way that the NR track has been added in places) and, in a majority of the cases, they are all complete. Having said that, I know Franklin would welcome any information on any missing tracks (preferably with links or references to where the details can be found) and will try to include them if possible. New Carto-Metro map - v2.0
Franklin has now added these, and also the Northern City line changes at
Finsbury Park. They will be in the next version of the map when Franklin uploads it later on. Roger *From:* "Clive D. W. Feather" *Date:* Fri, 20 May 2011 20:35:29 +0100 In message , Clive D. W.
