Default KXSP to East Croydon

I'm wondering why Journey Planner suggests I get to East Croydon from KXSP
by using the tube to London Bridge and then train to EC, rather than FCC
direct. I'm sure there's a very good reason - or not!

Normally I would expect travelling via Victoria to be fastest, just because
there are more trains from Victoria than London Bridge, but the JP is
probably trying to avoid the escalator works at Victoria.

FCC only has the advantage if you've got luggage - it's a very slow journey
between St Pancras and London Bridge.
