Default Epping Ongar Railway, LU150 event (pictures)

For the first time since it closed as an LU branch line in 1994, I
visited the EOR this week, for its LU150 celebration event. It used
some of the same rolling stock as was used in the high profile steamy
tunnels 150th anniversary event early this year, and the subsequent
Steam on the Met event, but this time in the rather attractive Essex
countryside. The line has been restored to its GER era, with no trace
of its briefer LU life, but there is some authenticity in LU150 being
celebrated there, as the line did run steam trains for its first
decade as an LU line.

Chipping Ongar has a disappointing shortage of decent pubs near the
station. North Weald appears to have a good one, but I didn't have a chance
to try it.
