That's the new tunnels, plus the exciting machines which re-did the kilometre of Connaught tunnel. And isn't it a shame that these boring machines and their expert workforce cannot now move directly to start CROSSRAIL2? Yes, but HS2 may need the workforce in between. The HS2 tunnels will be bigger, so not the same TBMs. I thought the crossrail tunnels were also being built to UIC gauge? -- Spud |
