TfL Vision of the Future map
In article , Boltar
writes I never understood the point of trolleybuses. If you're going to have fixed electric infrastructure why not have a tram and get the extra people carrying capacity and greater efficiency. Whats the point of a bus if its physically limited to fixed routes? It's cheaper to install from scratch, because you don't have to dig up the road to lay rails, divert pipes, sewers, wires, and so on. And it's cheaper to maintain, because someone else pays to repair your "track". There are disadvantages - lower capacity and lower efficiency - but on a medium-load corridor these might not be enough to matter. -- Clive D.W.
