Default Bank to King George V "cabride" video on Google

If anybody's interested, I've uploaded a video of a journey from
Bank[1] to King George V. It was recorded using a cheap camcorder, the
windscreen was not as clean as it could have been, and just after
Canning Town there was a lot of glare from the sun.

The video runs for 21min 33secs and is at
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...65880788185430

If this shows interest, I may do others with a better camcorder. The
original is a 158MB wmv file; perhaps another format may be better.
I will be on the uk.r meet on the Stalybridge parly on Saturday, if
anyone wants to discuss this.

[1] Actually starting from the tunnel portal; the in-tunnel section
came out black apart from the tunnel lights -- it was a *cheap*
camcorder! Can anyone tell me if this portal has a name?

Regards,

Clive

What a splendid piece of work! Much appreciated since I have not yet got
round to riding the new extension (and now I feel I have!).

Clive - Thanks for this

The office I work in designed the viaduct for DLRE (I may have
mentioned this a gajillion times before) and we haven't had a ride
yet!! This will certainly be a suitable alternative for now.

Thanks Clive,
Very enjoyable especially as I travelled Stratford to Bank on
Wednesday evening peering out of the front (in the dark) of a DLR train.

My thanks to all who responded -- another trip will *definitely* be on
the cards. I may try Lewisham to Bank.

I will limit the announcement to uk.transport.london though, to keep
it on topic.

Clive

In what way would it be off-topic for uk.railway ?

I fear that you may be liable to a great misfortune if you don't also inform
us "northerners" on ukr. I refer to the recent discrimination against
Bowtners act 2005.

Ken Ward, Bolton.

PS. Don't forget Stratford to Lewisham, followed by the Croydon Tram
etc..........

Thanks Clive - having just moved from East London to Australia, your
video was the only way I was going to see the new bits of the DLR any
time soon!

Go on - I for one would be interested.

All right, I'll post the announcement to both groups.

My plan is for Lewisham to Bank, Tower Gateway to Beckton, and
Lewisham to Stratford (not necessarily in that order). Canning Town to
Stratford International and King George V to Woolwich Arsenal will
have to wait for a while, however!

Clive
