Yes - travel cards are valid for the entire London bus network and are
not restricted to zones as far as buses are concerned.

Even a zone 1-2 travelcard is valid on the outskirts of London's buses, and
likewise a zone 2-6 travelcard is valid in the city centre on the buses.

Also, it lasts longer - a day travelcard can be used on the nightbuses that
night and in the early hours of the following morning. Not sure up until
what time the cut-off is, but I think it is 4:30 in the morning. But as far
as I know, if you get on the bus at 4:20 using a travelcard, you can
legally stay on the bus until your journey ends. Also, if you get on a
nightbus at 4:40, you may still be allowed to ride on the bus if it is
running eg 20 mins late through no fault of your own.

To be honest, it's one of the good things that Ken has introduced. I don't
believe day travelcards could be used on nightbuses in the past.... but I'm
sure someone here will correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes your right Tristian. Once apon a time they were not valid on the
night bus network. Only cash or period Travelcards/Bus Passes were
valid. Now they are valid until 04.30 in the morning.
