Okay, should not be a big problem changing at Hyde Park Corner then, it
is just a walk half-way around (or through) the roundabout.

Can somebody with a pass take the tube to Earls Court then take buses
to Shadwell then take the DLR to King George?

Yes.

74 Earls Ct - Baker St
205 Baker St - Liverpool St
100 Liverpool St - Shadwell

is probably the route with least changes. I'm sure someone can come up
with a more exciting variation.

Actually thinking again you could stay on the 205 to Whitechapel and
then get the ELL to Shadwell as the tube is in Zone 2 at that point!.

Ask and you shall receive (Courtesy of the TfL Journey Planner, of
course):

C1 Earl's Court - Knightsbridge
14/19/22 Knightsbridge - Piccadilly Circus
9/13/23/139 Piccadilly Circus - Aldwych
11/23 Aldwych - Liverpool Street
100 Liverpool Street - Shadwell

Which is rather insane if you ask me. Why on earth it doesn't say take
the C1 / 328 to Kensington High St then the 9 to Aldwych and then the
11, 23 or 172 to St Pauls and then make a same stop change to the 100 I
don't know. I'll readily admit I had not considered the "round the
corner" link to HSK and then the 9 to Aldwych but that's quite a
convenient link even if it is a very busy service. Better than a drag
down Oxford St at this time of year (!) - sorry Dave A.

All of the above routes are very frequent and interchange involves no
walking at all at the interchange points.

Or how about:

328 Earl's Court - High Street Kensington
9 High Street Kensington - Aldwych
1/168/172/188 Aldwych/St Mary Strand Church - Bricklayers Arms
42 Bricklayers Arms - Tower Gateway
100 Crosswall - Shadwell

Why on earth would anyone divert via Bricklayers Arms? Only the 1 and
188 provides a convenient interchange to the 42 at that location.
