Its a map of TfL services - it includes DLR and Tramlink, and the existing North London Line even though its under NR control (with some TfL assistance) - what would they possibly gain by removing the ELL? Well, they removed the central Thameslink connection, which was at one time on there - and yes I know this isn't TfL operated, but it was hard to see what they gained by its removal... And the Tube map doesn't have Tramlink, at present - maybe they will add it when ELLX opens and the Tube map then has to go south as far as West Croydon? What will cause confusion is the use of 'Overground' for 'London Rail' - given that the term is already in use for certain parts of the South London NR network. I can see that having to change again, but its really only a few fancy signs on the platforms... I remember when they introduced that 'Overground Network' branding to minimal acclaim. Won't be sorry to see it go - never meant anything! -- Larry Lard The address is real, but unread - please reply to the group |
