The Acton Town Principle:

If waiting for a Rayners Lane train, the first three trains to arrive
will each be one of: Heathrow, Northfields, Ealing Broadway, Stops
Here, Special.

If waiting for an Ealing Broadway train, the first three trains to
arrive will each be one of: Heathrow, Northfields, Rayners Lane,
Ruislip, Uxbridge, Stops Here, Special.

If waiting for a Heathrow train (and even a Northfields train would
do!) the first two trains will be to Uxbridge and Rayners Lane.

Greathead's law: when waiting for a Northern line train, nothing at all
will come.
