Default OT - the joy of computerised mapping

The name "Winter Road" is a bit of a giveaway... the roads are only
open when the rivers and lakes are frozen.

"Dennison's Ice Road" by John McPhee is the classic book about them.
They exist all over the Arctic, and often seem to be permanent enough
to get marked on maps

I think the Americans have now built one to the South Pole.

Does Patagonia have any? or doesn't it get cold enough
