This suggests that there is something different about the Shepherds
Bushes whereby they are treated as a single station.

That may be true for oyster but it's not true for paper tickets as...

I went from Hayes and/or Harlington to Hackney Central the other day,
changing at Shepherds Bush. With my 2/3 travel card I expected to pay
£1.10, and then get the overground for nowt.
But Oyster...
