There are way too many obeli in the central area... in particular, the lack of through trains between the Morden line and the Charing Cross branch is represented by an obelus on the Charing Cross branch stations, when it would be more useful to put it on the Morden line stations, since about half of the people using the Morden branch need to think about this but a tiny fraction of the people using, say, TCR need to give a crap. Or they should just go back to the old way of a black/white dashed line indicating a limited service. The whole thing is inconsistent anyway. They feel the need to tell us that you may need to change if going from TCR to Morden, but do not mention that you will definitely need to change if going from say Turnham Green to Bayswater, or Olympia to Victoria. Peter- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - The map in the link given does neither. They've got rid of the dotted line at Kennington and also the double green line through Earls Court. |

How did Westfield get away with that? It is true. Neither is a new station, in spite of http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/projectsandschemes/10134.aspx saying otherwise for Shepherd's Bush. I find it more interesting that Wood Lane (wla/wln) has public toilets from which service was withdrawn. At first the notices on the doors were covered, while a RADAR key could give access. AFAIR, there is now a regular LU lock and customers definitely get no service. A few stations have individual ticket halls without ticket offices or with permanently closed ticket offices. Wla is unusual in being built with no ticket office; the only other similarly-deficient station I recall is Regent's ParK. I assume a ticket office was scrapped in the recent refurbishment. -- Walter Briscoe |

Regents Park certainly had a ticket window when I last used it in the 1970s. The internal feel of the station had a toned down Leslie Green feel to it. But, I am pretty sure it was not one of his. I always thought Great Portland Street and Regents Park stations being so close but disconnected to be a trifle odd. It is all down to history and geography of course |
