There's an 'introduction' on the BBC web site:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8620188.stm

Consists of their Transport Correspondent explaining what a 378 looks
like. He makes it sound like they are exclusive to the ELL and have
not actually been in use on the Overground for months...

Story includes some political squabbling alleging that Boris has been
trying to claim the credit for opening the line. Nothing new there
then.

I see they have linked Dalston Junction and Dalston Kingsland as
interchange stations. *Is there an exit from DJ north of Dalston Lane?
Otherwise, I wouldn't exactly call a 250 metre walk, involving the
crossing of two busy roads, an 'interchange'!

I would. Similar to West Hampstead. Also, Euston Square. Plus think of
the NR to LU interchanges at places like London Bridge or Charing
Cross for example.

It would be interesting to know what time limit they put on Oyster
PAYG transfers between the two stations. *

Indeed.

Plus Kenton to Northwick Park, which is not shown as an interchange.

Its about time they changed the disabled symbol. Its begnining to look a bit
silly plastered over so many stations. Why can't they just have a little icon
similar to the nation rail sign? Just because someones in a wheelchair doesn't
mean they're blind.

"It'll start at 7 tph and then go down to 12 tph..."

Quality info there then...

Not a bad introduction for the uninitiated. The BBC has done worse,
much worse.

Like trying to report the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, instead of
just reporting what the Israeli Foreign or Defence Ministries say? I
agree, disgraceful...

It's only the same size as the blob for an interchange station, and
indicates something about what kind of station it is. The NR symbol
to the side indicates what it's an interchange to, but the blob tells
you that the station is an interchange.

Marylebone is a good example (not an interchange with another LU
line).

So I think there's a reasonable case for it, till so many stations are
accessible that it's the rest that have a different symbol (skull and
crossbones or something).

Or they could try reporting the facts.

Preview service starts tomorrow afternoon (perhaps)...

Thanks.

There are way too many obeli in the central area... in particular, the
lack of through trains between the Morden line and the Charing Cross
branch is represented by an obelus on the Charing Cross branch
stations, when it would be more useful to put it on the Morden line
stations, since about half of the people using the Morden branch need
to think about this but a tiny fraction of the people using, say, TCR
need to give a crap.

Or they should just go back to the old way of a black/white dashed line
indicating a limited service.

The whole thing is inconsistent anyway. They feel the need to tell us
that you may need to change if going from TCR to Morden, but do not
mention that you will definitely need to change if going from say
Turnham Green to Bayswater, or Olympia to Victoria.
