I saw the late local news bulletin on the Beeb which featured this
story - the report did eventually mention it was about the trains
once, but otherwise it was pretty vague, e.g. there was no mention of
Alstom (what I saw might have been a shorter edit though). I can
imagine there being many viewers who had some idea about the demise of
the infracos who would have been a bit bemused by the report - they
should have specifically flagged up that it concerned the trains from
the beginning. (Indeed, UIVMM, the Alstom/ Jubilee line trains deal
predates the PPP, just like the Alstom/ Northern line PFI contract.)
