One hopes that the suspension of the cars is permanent, unless people
want to swim the rest of the way across.

One wonders why the copywriters did not see the opportunity they
presented people for some bad puns.

Perhaps they were hanging about elsewhere?

I've not yet been on it -- do you know if the cars are
air-conditioned?

Blimey, you'll be wanting a little pop-out bracket to put your can of lager
in next...

BBC News is reporting (in Breaking News at 12:50) that the Dangleway

They did not report that two men were fighting on the roof of the
cable car and one of them fell to his death but had a parachute.

No, that's "operational difficulties". A "technical problem" is where one
of them bites through the cable with his teeth causing the gondola to fall to
the river below but lands in a passing weather balloon.

They are. The doors don't fit properly at the sides. Not good if you
already suffer from vertigo, though the trip itself is more like
looking out of a plane that climbing a tall building

Save yourself the extorniate fare - just follow someone through the big gates
when they open them. No one checks tickets or watches the barriers.

I've been on plenty of Swiss gondelbahn, and generally they aren't
air-conditioned, but do have opening windows so you get a nice breeze
and may be able to take distortion-free pictures, depending on how
wide the windows open. But getting stuck in a little capsule over the
Thames on a hot day may be a bit unpleasant.
