Horrible trains made even worse by the idiots who converted them to longitudinal seating with some seats that were too small for anyone of normal size. -- Spud But with the great advantage that without side doors at the carriage ends, each carriage provided four seats, two facing at each end, where it was possible to drop off without fellow passengers needing to step over your feet, or generally "brush past". Or when wide awake the opportunity to gawp at the passengers in the adjoining carriage before they eventually copped on. michael adams .... |

Need to be at Moorgate twenty minutes before the train departs, they say. The ticket has a carriage number (I'm in B), but not a seat number [the original booking did]. Summarised schedule is: 0932-0955 Board train at Moorgate 1042 Arr Wimbledon via High St Ken and Earls Court 1055 Depart Wimbledon 1203 Arr West Ham Siding via Earls Court and Moorgate 1206 Dep West Ham Siding 1216 Arr Barking 1322 Dep Barking 1354 pass Moorgate again 1420 pass High St Ken 1424 pass Gloucester Road 1455 pass Moorgate again! 1527 Arr Hammersmith. I had the same mailing this morning. I'm in coach C. Roland could also have mentioned the need to "bring a pack lunch and drinks" and bear in mind the limited comfort breaks so might like to use the loos at Liverpool St before going to Moorgate. -- Colin Rosenstiel |

Is that all the stock is cleared for now? A trip to Olympia and back would have been neat. It looks as if all those routes will be covered plus West Ham siding (why twice?). And why four passes over the northern Circle, and only one the southern? To even it up, the first leg should really have gone via Tower Hill clockwise to Wimbledon, even that was never an official end-to-end route (but neither is Wimbledon to Barking via Kings Cross). I agree about Olympia. I assume that might be possible if there weren't two trips to West Ham siding. The multiple passes are a result of running over the different routes which rather multiple at Edgware Road. -- Colin Rosenstiel |

If you're talking about comfort breaks then you may as well leave off the 'Street' after Liverpool for the maximum confusion factor, and while you're at it, write it as Moor Gate as well! (Hmm... there are Moors at the gate, this here Yurop place is a bit scary...) You've lost me there. Anyone here going on the tour other than Roland and me? -- Colin Rosenstiel |
