There is a farewell tour planned for June 29th

http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whats-on/e...hicles-outings

Tickets priced £40 will be on sale from 2 June

Departing from Moorgate, this official last C stock tour covers its
former territory, including the Hammersmith & City, Circle and District
Lines and finishes at Hammersmith. Passengers will have the opportunity
to visit the London Transport Museum pop-up shop at Barking Station
during the lunch stop over.

My ticket is booked (by lunchtime the front and rear coaches were
already fully booked; looking now, the 6-car train is about 65% booked).

Anyone up for a utl meet somewhere en-route?

The only problem now is that the trip starts at 09:55 and the first
train from the Cambridge area doesn't seem to get me there before
11:15, although that's with the following comedy route according to
NRES (is the Circle/Met closed to normal trains?)

08:58 Ely [ELY] /FCC train/ London Kings Cross [KGX] 10:09
10:24 London Kings Cross [KGX] /Walk/ London St Pancras 10:25
10:42 London St Pancras /train/ Stratford International 10:48
10:53 Stratford International /Walk & Tube & DLR/ Moorgate 11:15

Can't you get there via Liverpool St? TfL think there are services from
there to Moorgate at the time. The 08:32 from Cambridge to Liverpool St
looks like it should get there in time.

later Ah! No arrival from Ely before 09:15. That's a bit fatal. You'll
have to drive to Cambridge then and park in Rustat Road or somewhere like
that.

The first LST train from Cambridge seems to be the 0732-0843; I'm not
going to bet on the 0832 being on time and me getting to Moorgate in 12
minutes! Although maybe bailing out at Tottenham Hale would work, if
everything is running OK.

To KGX there's the 0728-0829, with the next useful train being the
0828-0928. I'll have to see how brave I'm feeling on the day, but a
combination of Sunday plus quite probably some engineering works (RTT
says most of the LGX trains that day are on a special timetable) means
I'll probably be on the 0732.

The initial rush for tickets seems to have died down with just over 50
left now (75% sold).

There's a connection off the 0751 to Stratford with connection arriving LST
at 0931, including the Tottenham option. Trouble with that is poor
connections to Moorgate from the Victoria Line. That gives an extra 12
minutes for the Liverpool St-Moorgate connection. TfL's journey planner says
it only takes 6 minutes walking and 1 minute by (frequent) train.

How long to get to Moorgate from KGX, though? You might as well get the 0751
and change at Tottenham Hale. If the connection Stansted Express is
cancelled you've still got the 0832 to fall back onto. I suppose the 0732 is
the safest option, though.

The initial rush for tickets seems to have died down with just over

I've bought one.

I understand the last trains run next week as 4 units go for scrapping

apparently scheduled for C stock until 1339 (lunchtime).

[...]
Tuesday 3rd June not the Monday as I said before.

So the last C stock ran in normal service earlier today then?

In which case I missed giving them a final ride, but I expect I'll live!

What I did miss out on is not going for a final ride on the A stock on
the Chesham branch.

Same here, but it's a shame. But I can claim that I rode on them before
they entered service as C69s provided a shuttle service from a very
puddly Moorgate to a Neasden open day in - when?

What I did miss out on is not going for a final ride on the A stock on
the Chesham branch.

Good riddence to them. Horrible trains made even worse by the idiots who
converted them to longitudinal seating with some seats that were too small
for anyone of normal size.
