Default Any way to force a break of journey other than using two oyster cards?

I have totally lost track of this arguement and any attempt to go back over the old posts quickly saps my will to live!

So your "committee" is just a bunch of managers

May I suggest that the use of the word committee here is confusing
given that TfL is a politically controlled animal - it strongly
suggests political involvement in the decision making.

I have no idea why you think that.

Because you presented "you'll have to get it past..." as some
insurmountable boundary

Not insurmountable, just necessary.

Looking back you used the term "extremely difficult".

Which isn't insurmountable.

but it's still a ridiculously strong negative for what is a trivial item

The difficulty partly arises from finding someone prepared to be
sufficient of a champion for the change.

If experience of other places (as a user) is anything to go by

website owners are always keen to tinker with their site

South West Trains are the king of rip-off travelcard fares.

Off Peak Day Return Bournemouth - London £54.60
Off Peak Travelcard Bournemouth - Zones 1-6 £64.40 (£9.80 more)

And the off-peak 1-6 Travelcard bought in London is £8.90, the Oyster
cap £8.50

My experience of large prestigious websites is that approval to
retrospectively change anything requires a persistent champion.
(Different rules may apply to people posting brand new press
releases etc).

Southern are generally the best

Off Peak Day Return Three Bridges - London £23.60
Off Peak Travelcard Three Bridges - Zones 1-6 £26.00 (£2.40 more)

But SWT is also the fare setter from WALTON ON THAMES WAL to London
Terminals

OFF-PEAK DAY R CDR US OFF PEAK Adult £11.00
OFF-PEAK TCDSTD ODT US OFF PEAK Adult £16.90 (£5.90 more)

And the two-ticket solution (since all trains stop at Surbiton) is £14.30
(£3.30 more)
From SURBITON to London terminals (Z1-6 ODTC)
OFF-PEAK TCDSTD ODT B1 OFF-PEAK Adult £8.90

From WALTON ON THAMES WAL to SURBITON
OFF-PEAK DAY R CDR US OFF PEAK Adult £5.40

Pretty outrageous I agree.

I bet that happened as a result of blind percentage increases.
