There are 100 platform tickets floating around for Lullingstone, a
station that was built in the late 1930s between Swanley and
Eynsford, but never opened as a result of WW2..

I was the person who ordered them. It's a story I've told before,
but although the tickets are real, they're not authentic - they were
issued in 1982!

It could be that a similar thing happened in the appropriate DMO.

Ok, as all sorts of theories, interesting stories though, are coming up. If
anyone has the appropriate Fares Manual for 2001, they should have a look at
this ticket therein.

Tom

That must have been very close to Eynsford station. Presumably it was
located at the road leading out of Eynsford to Lullingstone Roman
Villa. Was the intention to close Eynsford?

Do you know what they are likely to find? Is this (apparently
non-existent) ticket some kind of James Bond membership card??

hehe

No, nothing *that* interesting at all

The Manual, and Tribute, contained a fairly massive error on this ticket
which was exploited by a number of lucky (if dishonest) people. My post
merely came out of wondering if this was known at the time at all.

Ah, was it perhaps priced *far* too cheaply?

*Far, far, far*

As were the weekly and monthly versions of the ticket as well.

It was free, perhaps? (Or maybe the price of a platform ticket)?

Maybe a £0.01 price (or similar token amount) was entered as the price on
the basis that the station wasn't in regular use?
