Most 'spider maps' have funny wiggly lines radiating from the Tube
station at the centre, making them look, well, spidery. West Acton has

Hence the humour in it, I see now, thankyou. But I've certainly seen
spiders produce a single vertical thread :-)

Compare, for example, with Burnt Oak or Edgware.


Thank Helen. I still don't see John's beef with them, even after reading
all his Google comments. They may only be a visual representation of the
lists of stops and connections, but some people (t'wofe for instance) do
think much better visually than verbally, especially where there is a lot
of information to correlate. It would demonstrate a poor theory of mind
for someone to say that "they don't suit me therefore they suit nobody".
