Not THAT much bigger though. Here's the best Golf figures by comparison

Prius (all 1.5 models) - 65.7 mpg, 104 CO2, £17495
Polo (1.4 TDI) - 62.8 mpg, 120 CO2, £11035
Golf (1.9 TDI) - 53.3 mpg, 143 CO2, £15680

Well I'd say that a prius and golf were roughly the same size and an extra 12
mpg and 39g CO2 less seems pretty good to me.

For comparison, official figures are

Prius (all 1.5 models) - 65.7 mpg, 104 CO2, £17495
Polo (1.4 TDI) - 62.8 mpg, 120 CO2, £11035

There's a difference but not THAT great a difference, especially when you
factor in the purchase price

But figure in a few years CC exemption, and the maths begin to tip
back the other way.

And *if* Westminster gives free parking to the Prius........

Wow, I didn't know that. Another good reason to consider one.

http://www.westminster.gov.uk/roadsa...icvehicles.cfm

=====
The City of Westminster is committed to a cleaner environment and

therefore
allows electric vehicles to park free of charge during controlled hours on

Meter
and Pay & Display bays throughout the City.
=====

Thanks for that. I had a look at their web site but didn't see anything
straight away. Is a Hybrid car the same as an electric I wonder? TfL
doesn't think so (although they discount both).

"Please note that the above concessions do not apply to hybrid vehicles."

That's that one bugger then...........
