The bakerloo line has a depot at London Road, off the tunnel by Lambeth
North. The connecting branch line goes to the depot, but it continues
beyond it, through a tunnel said to be very haunted.
Why does it continue?

According to Rail Through The Clay, the short dead-end tunnel was built
as a shunting neck.

The shunt neck is said to be haunted because it is near an old plague
pit.

So that the ghosts have somewhere to live.
