West Berliners could get an FRG passport without any trick. They were

non-Eastern bloc countries.

I am quite sure that they could not get an FRG passport from the
Westberlin Senat. The occupation forces were very keen on keeping the
legal separation between Westberlin and the FRG. Even the postal stamps
of Westberlin were different.

The (german language) Wikipedia article on West-Berlin
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/West-Berlin#Besonderheiten

says on this issue:

------- cut ----------------------

Bundesinnenministeriums ausgestellt.

--------------- off ---------------

This confirms what I said above: The Westberlin Senate did not issue
FRG passports. WEstberlin citizens did get FRG passports for the Bonn
government, as also Polish citizens did get such passports.

As you might know, the FRG authorities issued FRG-passports for
Polish citizens. They introduced double citizenship in Poland, while
refusing double citizenship by all means for people actually living
within the FRG.

There are more interesting remarks about other ID and travel
documents in this Wikipedia article.

What is a "Right of centre state"? Poland? Belarus?

According to wonkypaedia Poland has a centre-right government, so
yes. Belarus appears to be more of a one man, one vote democracy -
Alexander Lukashenko is the man and he appears to enjoy the vote.

But Belarus is to the right of the center, if you look at a map.

As to your politically labelling -- I avoid such name calling as the
plague.

I asked you a question above.

The issue under discussion is the situation of Berlin railway workers.

Obviously you are not interested in that subject, but try to achieve
something else.

I see you've given up any pretence of providing examples to demonstrate
your claim that:

Under capitalist rule, you will find that most state owned
enterprises are actually operated with the objective to make profit.

(from your of Wed, 04 Jan

Is that Checkpoint Charlie? Incidentally, I see there's a mini version
of the old US border post still there, with actors posing as US guards,
who'll pose in pics with tourists for a fee. But there's no sign of the
old Soviet checkpoint.

Yes he means Checkpoint Charlie. The DDR referred to their border crossing
as Ubergangstelle Friedrichstrasse Zimmerstrasse and it was only available
to the military, diplomats and none Germans. Germans had to use
Heerstrasse, north of the Reichstag, though there were latterly other points
for West Berlin residents

AFAIK the checkpoint cabin erected and staffed by the Americans at that
point didn't check civilians coming through. There were no West German
authorities there.

As far as military patrols were concerned uniformed patrols were carried out
by the four powers in all sectors of Berlin. I got talking to a British
soldirer from Nelson in Alexamderplatz - the Russions patrolled and also
manned their victory memorial on 17th June strasse (West of the Brandenberg
Gate). And also Spandau Jail when it was their turn.

As Friedrichstrasse also acted as an interchange between two West Berlin S
Bahn lines and one West Berlin U Bahn line (U6) it would have been
impossible you would have needed 5 border controls (2 on the North Sud
Bahn, 2 on U6 and 1 on the Statdbahn at Lehrter Statdbahot to check
everyone).

Ah, yes ... The wonderfully inconsistent part of Spanish
policy! It's
only wrong for a country to have an exclave within another
country if the
second country is Spain?

And there is also a little bit of Spain entirely within France.

Not Spain / France, but here's a very strange border situation:

Passing through Switzerland last month, my friend refused to divert to
tick-off Büsingen.

In uk.railway Lüko Willms twisted the electrons to say:
The most deaths, presumably, are in the Mediterranean Sea. The
European Union had a treaty with the Ghaddhafi ruled Libya, that Libya
would set up prison camps for those would be emigrants to Fortress
Europe. I guess the current rules (all warring factions) would continue
this agreement, since they owe their power to the bombing campaigns of
the colonialist powers.

Those deaths being caused by EU border guards shooting people in the back
as they attempt to engage in "Republikflucht"?
