Does anyone have a full list of what one has to do with Oyster PAYG to
correctly interchange between the train and tram at each station? I know that at some the tram is outside the station but others look complicated, particularly the less well known stations. -- My blog: http://adf.ly/4hi4c |

The only station where the tram stops inside the station is the little-known Wimbledon, where the Oyster rules are slightly complex. |

The only station where the tram stops inside the station is the little-known Wimbledon, Elmers End is inside the (ungated) station. And Mitcham Junction sort-of integrates the adjacent tram and rail stations. Everywhere except Wimbledon, you just do what you would expect: touch in and out for trains, touch-in only for trams (trams are rather like buses for Oyster purposes). However the three people who understood the Schleswig-Holstein question gave up on figuring out how to use Oyster at Wimbledon. -- Arthur Figgis Surrey, UK |

This web site http://www.oyster-rail.org.uk/ has everything you need to know about interchanging with Oyster, including an entire page on Wimbledon. It looks good and Wimbledon now seems clear. A few of the other stations do still confuse. If I've got this right: Tram to train - always touch in on a yellow reader at every station. Train to tram: West Croydon, East Croydon & Beckenham Junction - always touch out leaving the train station and touch in at the tram stop. Wimbledon - always touch in on the readers on platform 10; they'll sort out any other touch in within the station. Elmers End - touch in on the tram readers on the tram platform only? It's an island shared with the train and the only time I've used it there wasn't clear signage for those in a hurry to know which is which? Birkbeck - Does this work like the Croydons with an out and in or like Wimbledon with only the tram reader needed? Mitcham Junction - I've never interchanged here so have no idea if there's a clear gap between trainland and tramland or if it's spot the green sticker time. Which of these did I get wrong? -- My blog: http://adf.ly/4hi4c |

Birkbeck railway station and and tram stop are in effect totally separate entities, facing each other across a fence. You have to leave one network, go under the bridge on the roadside pavement and enter the other network at the other side. So it is like the Croydons, except there is no station ticket gate. -- Arthur Figgis Surrey, UK |
