Why was Londona729 banned after only four innocuous posts?

This usenet group isn't moderated so it's not possible for anyone to
be banned. Perhaps he just cancelled / deleted his posts or opted not
to post?

Yes, I was intrigued by that question. But I'm also intrigued by your
response: are *any* Usenet groups moderated? I didn't think there was a
mechanism for that.

Yes, uk.legal.moderated for example. I'm one of the mods.

One question I have: this move was designed to cut staff costs, so have the
numbers on duty dropped?

I would say no , at the moment. But I suspect the long term plan is to not
rehire people who leave so reducing staff costs that way. Thank god Boris will
soon be out otherwise I suspect LU would have ended up like the DLR or the
Newcastle metro with scarcely any staff to be seen anywhere.

Is this perhaps a London Banter thing - many people here will not even
know what that is. It is certainly impossible to ban anyone from Usenet.
