"08.08 To Willesden Junction" sounds so much less romantic than "3.10 to Yuma", but would make a better film.

Thank you for that. What is strange is that there was no
announcement warning passengers that Gospel Oak would
be avoided. I imagine someone unfamiliar with the train -
someone like me! - would board, assuming all the usual stops
would be made. Gospel Oak is one the three stations where
large numbers of people alight.

Not because they want Gospel Oak but because they want to change onto
the westbound NLL...
Oh yes, although some head eastbound towards Kentish
Town and Camden. The three stations on the line where
large numbers board and alight are Gospel Oak, Blackhorse
Road and Barking; the three stations where you can change
trains.

I find it appalling that politicians and "transport experts" have
not grasped the implications of this: that in London the orbital
rail routes are used to a great extent as an adjunct to other
lines and that to maximise the potential of these orbital routes,
any new rail routes built in London must connect with them.

The latest ideas for Crossrail 2 do not suggest connections with
North London's orbital rail services; such is the expertise of the
"experts."

It wouldn't make a better film than the original "3.10 To Yuma"
which remains a superb movie. The remake is of little interest.

Is Dalston off CR2 now?

I'll have to check to be sure. I particularly remember the latest
iteration did not connect with GOBLIN.

No, it's still shown in the core section. Dalston is intended as a
double-ended station (Dalston Junction-Dalston Kingsland), so it will
connect with both the Stratford and the ELL LO services. That looks like a
pretty god connection with "North London's orbital rail services", so the
experts do seem to know their stuff.

It will also connect with the LO orbital routes at Clapham Junction,
providing a much shorter, quicker link to Dalston than the existing orbital
LO service. There is also a possible spur to Hackney Central.

Plus the Seven Sisters Crossrail station will have a connection to
South Tottenham on the GOBLIN.

The Seven Sisters branch is looking like it might be "delayed", which we
all know means it might be cut completely.

Given that the plan is at a nascent stage, with several parts of the
route still being debated, and not even a vague schedule for any of
it, surely it's meaningless to talk about any part of it being
"delayed"?
