I think because that doesn't remove the conflicting crossing moves that
reportedly cause the delays all over the District Line that they also
mention.

SO what came first - removing the conflicts - or increasing the Wimbledon
service?

Which is what everyone expected anyway...


If they're working on the assumption that the Overground service will be
able to service the demand - I wish them luck. Especially on southbound
trains in the early evening, right about when lots of people leave those
exhbitions, those trains are so full that no-one at Olympia can get on
them.

To which they'd almost certainly reply:

"Based on actual counts taken this year, this is not the case."

"Before putting this proposal forward London Underground worked with London
Rail to find out if there was sufficient spare capacity on
Overground/Southern trains for users of the weekday District line service
from Kensington (Olympia). This was done using existing data and forecasting
changes after the May 2011 service frequency increase. It was found that
current users could be accommodated on Overground/Southern services on most
days."

Then they obviously didn't count on southbound early evening trains at
Olympia, where people are left behind on the platform just about every
day.

This is probably true throughout most of the day. It is *not* true in
the evening peak.

Thankfully, it's not far to walk to West Kensington. I hope TfL put
posters up with maps on.
