Well I used both Prague HL N and Ceske Budjevice last week and they seem to
have a system of numbering both faces of the platform with the same number
to make sure that you go up the correct subway...

Huddersfield has platforms numbered 1 2 4 5 6 and 8.
Not sure what happened to 3 and 7 though perhaps someone will come along to
tell us.
The oddest one I've seen (a bit OT this) was Newark...

I cant see the beginning of this thread for some reason but what's wrong
with carrying on to Charing Cross (or changing at London Bridge into a
Charing Cross train) and then using the Bakerloo (or...

Connaught Tunnel for Crossrail or not?
Crossrail will now place cofferdams in the Connaught Passage
between the Victoria and Royal Albert Docks, pump out the water
and create a dry construction site allowing workers to dig down
to the...

Will it breech the tunnels?
There was certainly a comment a few years ago that crossrail would be a lot
more expensive if it didnt breach the tunnels . Presumably they are going
ahead with the...

Is that Checkpoint Charlie? Incidentally, I see there's a mini version
of the old US border post still there, with actors posing as US guards,

Before November 1989? I'm astonished.
Definitely. It was about August 1989. No sign of wall coming down at all.
They had DDR 40 in lights on a property in Alexanderplatz. Hard to believe
now...

station where one could buy S-Bahn tickets towards West Berlin in DM.
And only in the "non-socialist currency" area, i.e. the area...

board the train on the platform had to wait, all whom would have been
people who'd arrived by U-Bahn or S-Bahn from West Berlin.
